TalkTalk DOWN – Internet provider’s broadband not working for HUNDREDS of users

UPDATE ONE: The number of reports of TalkTalk down on Down Detector has experienced a huge spike.

The independent outage monitor has received thousands of reports of TalkTalk down this afternoon.

The issues peaked at almost 5,700 reports from TalkTalk customers experiencing problems today.

ORIGINAL: TalkTalk is down right now with the the firm’s broadband internet not working for hundreds of users in the UK.

Independent outage tracker Down Detector has received a surge of reports of TalkTalk down today.

Hundreds of TalkTalk customers have reported issues, with the bulk of problems surrounding the firm’s internet services.

Down Detector is an independent website which monitors social mentions to track outages across the globe.

The official TalkTalk status webpage says there are “localised issues” with broadband today.

They said: “We’re aware that some customers are having intermittent browsing issues. 

“We have our engineers investigating this as a matter of priority. We apologise for any inconvenience whilst we investigate the cause of this.”

The Down Detector outage maps says the  London, Nottingham, Manchester and Sheffield are among the main areas affected by the TalkTalk network issues today.

The official TalkTalk Twitter account has posted a network status update, saying that they are aware of the issues customers have been experiencing today.

They tweeted: “We’re aware that some customers are having problems with intermittent browsing issues. Our engineers are working on this. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

TalkTalk customers have been flocking to social networking site Twitter to report issues with the firm’s internet services today.

One customer tweeted: “@TalkTalk services down yet again WiFi is completly down”.

While another posted: “@TalkTalk Is the broadband service down?”

And one added:  “@TalkTalk Internet is down. And a lot of others are experiencing this!”
