Sunday Brunch CHAOS as guest SLAPS Tim Lovejoy as he refuses to listen: 'Can't see!'

MasterChef winner Angellica, 41, began nattering away to herself as Tim, 49, and Simon Rimmer, 54, became entranced by the stove after the meat they were cooking caught on fire.

Angellica asked: “Oh no are those burning, are they alright?” as Tim replied: “It’s funny how people get scared when we have some flames or something.”

A bemused Angellica went on: “Everyone’s just watching the fire, let’s just watch the fire,” as Tim said: “Fires draw people in, they’re an amazing thing. And this is more entertaining than anything we’re going to say.”

Tim and Simon then proceeded to give the flames their undivided attention, as Angellica continued to speak about her passion for learning the cello.

After noticing they weren’t giving her any attention, she eventually asked: “Are you listening?” before she grabbed the soggy aubergine and slapped Tim around the face with it, saying: “Wake up!”

An amused Tim joked: “At least you made the Christmas highlights reel!” before adding: “I can’t really see anything now Simon, I’ve got aubergine in my eye.”

Viewers immediately took to Twitter to laugh about the incident, with one person posting: “I would also like to throw [an] aubergine at Tim #SundayBrunch,” while a second added: “Bit rude – she should’ve put the whole aubergine in his face #sundaybrunch.”

A third wrote: “I love Angelica even more now she’s slapped Lovejoy around the face with a soggy, wet aubergine! #SundayBrunch.”

“Angellica Bell hitting Tim Lovejoy with an aubergine is by far the highlight of my weekend #SundayBrunch,” another posted.

Sunday Brunch continues next Sunday at 10.45am on Channel 4.
