Strictly Come Dancing 2018: Zoe Ball consoles crying Ashley Roberts – but what happened?

2018 contestant Ashley Roberts appeared on It Takes Two tonight to discuss her near-exit with host Zoe Ball.

However, in a skit for It Takes Two, Ashley was seen to pretend to be in tears with Zoe having to console the stricken dancer.

Of course, it was all part of a joke as Ashley acted a scene from Les Misérables.

Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton will perform an American Smooth (Foxtrot) to I Dreamed A Dream for Musicals Week.

As part of Tunes on Tuesday, Zoe was helped by the Strictly contestants to explore the themes.

Zoe said: “It’s time for Tunes on Tuesday, Musicals Edition! It’s showtime everyone.

“Back to serve up this week’s Ballroom bangers, it’s DJ Whiplash! We are going all out tonight.

“Let’s see which couple is first up tonight. Okay, here we go.”

The screen then revealed Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton.

Ashley walked out in a cloak crying, as Pasha waved the French flag.

Zoe continued: “I Dreamed A Dream from Les Misérables. Les Mis is the longest running musical in West End history, with over 13,550 performances under its belt.”

Pretending to break down, Ashley then hugged Zoe as the host said: “It’s going to be alright love! It’s all going to be fine.”

Zoe chuckled: “If you thought Vicky Gill worked hard – check this out!

“Each performance requires 392 complete costumes and 31 wigs!”

The presenter then cut the music and snapped: “It’s just too miserable!”

As Ashley was taken out of shot, Zoe shouted: “Get that girl some tea!”

It comes as the first Strictly couples to appear on next year’s Strictly Come Dancing UK Arena Tour were announced earlier today.

Stacey and Aljaž Škorjanec, Dr Ranj Singh and Janette Manrara, and Joe Sugg and Dianne Buswell will all take part in the tour.

They will all join tour host Ore Oduba and the live judging panel made up of Craig Revel Horwood, Dame Darcey Bussell, Shirley Ballas and Bruno Tonioli.

It Takes Two airs weekdays on  Two at 5pm.
