The Scottish stand-up comedian has dropped a dress size during intensive training for the BBC dance show.
She is also fitter and much more confident.
Now she wants to rerun her first dance with wife Lee Cormack – to Morecambe and Wise’s Bring Me Sunshine – after feeling “incompetent” at their wedding last year.
After eight hours a day training with professional dancing partner Kevin Clifton, Calman is sure she can do better.
The 42-year-old said: “I’d like to have another first dance and we might just do it in the house. I don’t think I could afford another wedding.”
Calman says Strictly has also helped her cope with depression, which as a teenager in Glasgow led to a suicide attempt.
She said: “Dancing absolutely lifts your mood.
“Strictly really is a dream come true. I am someone who has watched it on my sofa for years and now I am on it.”
Strictly Come Dancing: The Results, BBC1, tonight at 7.15pm.
