Strictly Come Dancing 2017: Shirley Ballas fuels exit rumours AGAIN after public backlash

Since joining the show, Shirley has remained tight-lipped over returning for a second stint and now her latest remarks won’t give fans much hope.

When asked whether she would return for the next series, she said: “Let’s wait and get this season over with first.”

She told The Sun: “It’s been an experience. And at 57! It’s been wonderful.”

The head judge has come under fire for a string of gaffes, booting out Aston Merrygold and has been accused of “over marking” since replacing Len Goodman, 73.

In response to her critics, the International Latin champion pointed out that it isn’t the judges who put the dancers in the bottom two.

She said: “They put Alexandra [Burke] in the bottom two and if I would have sent her home they would have blamed me but they put her there.”

Shirley wanted to look back at the celeb’s history on Strictly but was told she had to judge purely on the dance-off.

“I asked if I could judge on this, but no, I have to judge on that.”

Strictly pro Aljaz Skojanec, 27, responded to her statements this morning on ITV’s Lorraine.

He said: “We hope she’s not leaving. She’s been great on the show.”

continues Saturday at 7.05pm on One.
