As he showed his fans his dressing room, the 54-year-old said: “Hello one and all. Another performance day today. I’ve just got here in my dressing room.

“Yeah, I know. I know what you’re thinking. You want to see Aston’s. It’s absolutely massive, it’s got a sweet jacuzzi and everything. And yeah, that’s mine.”

Simon then went on to share details of tonight’s performance, explaining: “Buzz Lightyear today, dancing the Quickstep.

“Very excited. A little but nervous but not as panicked as the other two weeks. Fingers crossed and see you later.”

as he danced the Waltz to You’ll Never Walk Alone.

Speaking about the routine on on Wednesday, he told hosts Charlie Stayt and Louise Minchin: “That song means so much to me and then I messed up the ending and along with everything else, it was a tough old day.

“I’m a Liverpool fan and I was also at Hillsborough so it has extra significance… I was blabbing all Saturday morning, I couldn’t function.”
