The 30-year-old is reportedly romantically involved with the professional dancer, but the pair have always said they are just friends.
However, discussing their relationship with Lorraine Kelly, the Strictly Come Dancing pair were left giggling awkwardly.
It was only when the host asked if they were just friends that Mollie confirmed the news.
AJ, 23, on the other hand remained silent throughout, simply smiling and chuckling to himself.
Viewers couldn’t help but notice the awkward moment, with one posting on Twitter: “AJ remained silent there, I didn’t actually hear a no!!”
This came about when Mollie was late for her appearance on Lorraine, prompting ITV colleague Dan Wooton to ask if her sleeping in was proof that the pair weren’t sharing a bed.
Meanwhile, the former Saturdays star admitted she “can‘t believe” that they will be performing on the Blackpool stage, adding: “We’re so grateful to people voting for us.”
Mollie and AJ have faced enormous criticism after beating Aston Merrygold in the week seven dance off.
The moment, which has been dubbed Strictly’s biggest shock, came as a huge surprise to Mollie as well.
She explained that it would have been a “lose-lose” situation should either pair have been eliminated.
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One from 6.45pm.
