Strictly Come Dancing 2017: Former star reveals Joe McFadden must do THIS to win

This weekend, Joe McFadden, Debbie McGee, Alexandra Burke and Gemma Atkinson will battle it out on the dance floor to win the coveted Glitterball trophy.

Holby City actor Joe, 42, is currently favourite to waltz his way to victory with his partner Katya Jones, 28, but Debbie, 59, and her professional dancer Giovanni Pernice, 27, are extremely close behind.

And now former Strictly professional, Joanne Clifton, who won with Ore Oduba last year, has revealed what Joe must do to become victorious.

Giving the hopeful some useful tips, she said in her Radio Times column: “For Joe, I would just say to him to just continue with what he’s doing.

“Carry on what you’re doing because you love it and give it 150% in both performance and technique.”

Joanne – whose brother Kevin Clifton partnered Susan Calman this year – had a lot of praise for Joe’s Argentine Tango last weekend.

She added: “Joe’s Argentine Tango performance as a whole was amazing. And that ending thing… I mean, Katya’s a genius! The core strength that they must have – I bow down to them.”

The talented dancer also weighed in on the hotly debated reports of head judge Shirley Ballas’ departure from the BBC One show.

“I really doubt Shirley will leave after this year. I hope not, anyway,” she said.

“I know I criticised her last week, but I do think she’s the perfect replacement for Len. She more than knows her stuff and she’s like a walking technique book. And I don’t know who else could do it.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One at 6.30pm.
