The 58-year-old has previously topped the leader board, but she is now worried that she may slip further down the rankings if she fails to impress.
Sitting alongside professional dance partner Giovanni Pernice, Debbie told her concerns to Zoe Ball on It Takes Two.
Debbie gushed: “I still can’t believe that it’s us that are up there.
“It just doesn’t feel like it’s you, does it? He brings me back down to Earth.”
Speaking about her upcoming dance routine for this weekend, Debbie said: “Well, I have to be honest, it has been a really tough week.
“He’s been really patient with me. Today we kind of nailed it a bit.”
The contestant added that she is also struggling with having to act during the routine, adding: “I’m really good at overacting, I’m just no good at acting.”
It comes as Brendan Cole hit out at new head judge Shirley Ballas during a scathing rant later in the episode.
The 41-year-old dancer was not impressed when she attacked his choreography for dance partner Charlotte Hawkins during Saturday night’s programme.
He snapped: “I think she should keep her, those, opinions to herself!
“It was a very simple routine. It was a classic Cha-Cha, all basic choreography. I put in two difficult steps. One was the hot step which they made an entire VT about. That’s fine.
“You can’t… you know, if Shirley wants to swap places with me, I’m quite happy to judge… I know how to do that!”
