Strictly Come Dancing 2017: Debbie McGee and Alexandra Burke's 'feud' REIGNITES

With just three weeks until the grand final, the competitive duo are said to be going “head to head” to get the judges’ praises – and their top scores.

After Alexandra, 29, faced elimination last week, Debbie, 59, was reportedly “spurred on” by seeing her rival in the bottom two.

She said: “Seeing Alexandra in the same position just shows that everyone can have a routine that doesn’t appeal to the voters.

“I’m relishing the challenge. Every week, I feed off the audience and I had tingles down my spine from the moment that I walk onto the dance floor.

“I can’t explain what it is. Something wakes up inside me,” Debbie wrote in her blog for The Telegraph.

However, The Daily Star has reported that the former magician’s assistant thinks she “can win” the competition, adding that her rivalry with Alexandra has “intensified”.

Express.co.uk has contacted a representative of the BBC for comment.

This comes after The Sun reported that the pair’s “feud” broke out before Blackpool week.

An insider told the publication: “There is real drama between Alexandra and Debbie. Obviously they’re both very strong dancers and everyone expects them to reach the final.

“But with every week that passes things become even more strained between them. Blackpool is normally a big celebration but it’s likely to be extremely uncomfortable around those two because of this feud.

“Neither of them is showing any sign of winding down on this. The hardest part of it all is that their dance partners, Giovanni and Gorka, are the best of mates. But they’re both fearless and determined to win.”

The last time the rumours went around, Debbie McGee slammed the “feud” claims as “cods wallop” while posting a picture of her with Alexandra.

Strictly Come Dancing continues tonight on BBC One at 7.05pm.
