But his wife Isobel is not in the least worried about the Strictly curse, which has seen a string of celebrities becoming romantically involved with their dance partners.
The two women have become friends and spend time together “laughing” at Davood.
The EastEnders star, 35, said of Nadiya, 28, a Ukrainian world dance champion: “She’s so good at what she does.
“She knows what’s supposed to be shown in these dances, so yes, we get on really well. We had a laugh from day one.
“We’ve been lucky enough to be given dances and songs that allow us to show that chemistry between us and the partnership between us. I think it’s working really well.”
Father-of-two Davood, speaking of judge Bruno Tonioli’s comment that their steamy Quickstep routine looked like a “race to the bedroom”, added: “I think Bruno was referencing the story of the dance, two people meeting in the library, getting close and within that one minute and 30 seconds we tried to have a little story about two people meeting and running off together.
“Bruno was just showing his observation of that, so I was fine with it.”
Davood said Isobel, whom he married seven years ago and with whom he has daughters Eva, five, and Grace two, is often at the studios.
He added: “She has brought my daughters. They met Nadiya very early on.
My girls love her and they’re doing lots of drawings of Nadiya, what she’s wearing and her earrings and things like that.
“My wife and Nadiya get on really well.”
