The 41-year-old dancer has recently come under fire for allegedly “speaking out” about the judges following his celebrity partner’s, Charlotte Hawkins, departure in week three.
After repeatedly calling out the likes of Shirley Ballas for her “harsh” judging and “under-marking”, he has gained a reputation for being the “bad boy” of Strictly Come Dancing.
Defending his actions to Lorraine Kelly, Brendan confessed: “Let me tell you a backstage secret…
“The rest of the professionals are like this backstage, they all do it, but I can’t wait until the changing rooms, I do it on air.”
Brendan added that he finds it hard to stay quiet when he is passionate about something, or believes he sees something unfair.
“I’d do the same again,” he admitted. “You can’t control adrenaline.”
This follows reports suggesting that Brendan “refuses to speak to Shirley Ballas” backstage.
The Sun added that the pair’s feud was “undeniable”, explaining: “Brendan is clearly very bitter about missing out on the role and hasn’t held back on taking out his anger on Shirley.
“He goes out of his way to ignore her backstage during show breaks and makes her feel very uncomfortable.”
However, a spokesperson for Brendan Cole told Express.co.uk: “There is categorically no truth in the assertions.”
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One at 6.45pm.
