Stranger Things season 4: Is Eleven actually Hopper’s daughter Sara? Here’s the evidence

In the Stranger Things season one finale fans were launched into Hopper’s (Played by David Harbour) harrowing backstory that revealed he once had a daughter called Sara who sadly passed away.

While Joyce (Winona Ryder) and Hopper set off to find Will in the Upside down, Hopper recalled a memory of his daughter triggered by Joyce having difficulty breathing in the new atmosphere.

Fans will remember the unexpected flashback scene that saw Hopper’s young daughter struggle to breathe as she battles cancer.

A later scene in the Netflix Sci-fi showed Sara is holding a stuffed tiger as Hopper reads to her in a hospital bed, as she slowly drifts away leaving her parents devastated.

However, one clever theory suggests Sara is actually still alive, and Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) is revealed as Hopper’s daughter in a clue fans missed.

Viewers will remember the scene in the season one finale that saw Hopper exit the hospital and get into a black car with two men in suits.

However, the fan noticed something strange about the vehicle’s number plate.

Reddit user WaffleStomper1229 read: “The camera hangs on the license plate for about 2 seconds and the plate reads “2Xw91E1” Which I interpreted as ‘Two times, watch 9-1 Episode 1’

On a rewatch of the episode, the fan noticed the open shot after the credits was of a drawing on Chief Hopper’s living room wall.

the fan continued: “The drawing is a stick figure drawing of presumably Hopper, his wife and daughter.

“It is in the same style as the drawing that Hopper finds when he breaks into the lab earlier in the season when he thinks Will is being held hostage by the ‘Government Organization’.

Moreover, the episode referred to the episode fans met Hopper’s daughter and the similarities between her and Eleven when she wears the blonde wig.

The user added: “Earlier in the season Eleven is looking at her reflection with the blonde wig on and is fascinated with how she looks.

“Hopper believes that the government can completely cover up someones death, even though doctors have presumed the person dead and realizes this to be true”

Fans will remember the two faked deaths in season one when Hopper discovers Will’s body is a fake at the morgue, and also the lie that Eleven was miscarried when she was actually taken to a lab as a subject.

The fan concluded: “What if that was all a red herring? What if 11 is not this woman’s daughter but is actually the daughter of Chief Hopper?”

The theory comes after the original script pitched by the Duffer brothers made a shock revelation about Will Byers’ (Noah Schnapp) sexuality.

Will’s introduction reads: “WILL BYERS, twelve, is a sweet, sensitive kid with sexual identity issues.”

“He only recently came to the realisation that he does not fit into 1980s definition of ‘normal.’ His innocent choices, such as his colourful clothes, prove a constant source of bullying.

“Like Mike, Will escapes through fantasy gaming, where he can be himself, uninhibited.”

Stranger Things series 3 is now available to stream on Netflix.
