Stranger Things season three saw Eleven (played by Millie Bobby Brown) lose her powers after traumatic scenes saw her complete the agonising task of pulling a monster out of her leg.
This came after the Mind Flayer grasped El’s leg with it’s tentacle and tried to pull her out of the roof of Hopper’s house, knowing she was the one who could defeat it.
Many suspect this is how she lost her powers, but fans are yet to know if or when Eleven will get her powers back.
However, one Reddit user has a theory that the answers could be in Chicago, where Eleven met Kali (Linnea Berthelsen) in season two of the Netflix Sci-fi.
The second season introduced fans to Kali, also known as eight, who like Eleven, was a test subject at Hawkins lab and has her own special powers.
The user suggests that the answers could lie with her as Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard) goes on an epic mission to find her in a bid to get Eleven’s powers back.
The theory notes the Duffer brothers’ many 80s film references, including Ferris Bueller’s Day Off in the season three scene with Robin (Maya Hawke) and Steve (Joe Keery) sneak in to the cinema after escaping the Russians.
JediSabre begun: “After Eleven and Mike fight about her powers, Mike decides to pull a Ferris Bueller, and with Dustin, Lucas and Max, heads to Chicago to track down Kali.
“She’s been on the hunt for Dr Brenner since she was told he was alive.
“Mike wants to help her find Brenner so he can confront him about the chemicals they used on Eleven.
“This could bring some levity to the series, as the gang try to reenact some of the moments in Ferris Bueller to comic effect, while Mike is fixed on finding Kali.”
Could Mike track down Kali and Brenner and uncover what gave Eleven her powers?
Moreover, the user suggests Mike will save Brenner from Kali so he can save Hopper, assuming the Chief of Police is still alive.
“Mike will figure out where Brenner is and desert the party to go with Kali, who will want to kill him. But Mike will interfere.
“That’s when Eleven and Joyce turn up (maybe Eleven gets a call from Max telling her she’s got to come and help them find Mike, as he’s disappeared with Kali) and they’ll confront Brenner together.
The user speculates season four could also see the return of Kali’s mind control powers, as the Hawkins residents try to stop her from killing Dr. Brenner.
However, could Joyce (Winona Ryder) be the one to stop her?
“Joyce could handle Kali, who would undoubtedly use images of Bob and Hopper to try to stop her, but Joyce is pretty unstoppable.
“Mike needs Brenner alive to save El, who in turn, needs Brenner to save Hopper.”
Could Brenner reinstate Eleven’s powers?
