Strangely Beautiful Photos of Cars Spinning Out of Control

Australian photographer Simon Davidson, who we first learned about on Booooooom, is known for his images of cars and car culture. “A car is not simply something to get from one place to another but a statement of identity, a commentary on not just who you are but who you aspire to be,” the artist writes on his website. Davidson’s Burnout series caught our attention for the striking juxtaposition between the series’ ethereal clouds of shocking color and the imposing force of spinning car. Davidson describes it as “[recognizing] beauty where it’s not immediately obvious.” See more photos in our gallery.
