Star Wars shock: Han Solo deleted SHOOTOUT revealed by Greedo actor

Greedo, of course, has become much discussed amongst fans because of the way his scene with Han in Mos Eisley changed in re-edits, altering whether or not it was Harrison Ford’s character who shot first.

But aside from that, it seems another Rodian character was set to appear later on, as Han left Tatooine in the Millennium Falcon.

In the 1997 re-cut of the movie, Han’s discussion with Jabba the Hutt was re-introduced, but it seems this particular, previously unknown moment never saw the light of day.

It involved Han in a shoot-out with another Rodian character before the Stormtroopers came through, prompting him to board the Falcon.

He and the Rodian, it seems, would have forgotten their rivalry and joined forces with each-other when the anonymous killers in white appeared.

Paul Blake, who played Greedo, told Sci Fi Central: “There’s a brilliant little sequence which I loved doing with Harrison [Ford], where we were shooting at each other like cowboys and Indians.

“We had this big gun battle which lasted all morning and then Stormtroopers came out of the big double doors and we started firing at them.

“So we had this fantastic scene and of course that’s all gone. But I’m sure George [Lucas] has got that all at Skywalker Ranch.”
