Star Wars row: Mark Hamill’s parody of Harrison Ford TAKEN DOWN over ‘bogus’ claim

Bad Lip Reading’s six-minute clip went viral when it was posted yesterday, but had been taken down by this morning.

YouTube cited a copyright claim by the Dramatists Play Service, which licenses and publishes play scripts.

However, speaking to Variety, the Bad Lip Reading creator accused the company of making the claim “maliciously”.

“The people who made the claim (Dramatists Play Service) have zero grounds and one can’t help but assume it was done maliciously,” he declared.

The Dramatists Play Service have now said on Twitter that they have no copyright claim, and that the move was made in error.

“We are aware of an erroneous claim made by our org to YouTube regarding the video’s copyright and are looking into how this occurred,” they posted.

Backlash against them has already started, however, with one fan tweeting: “Who the eff are Dramatists Play Service and WTF was their beef with @BadLipReading’s parody of The Force Awakens? They don’t own Star Wars!”

“Dramatists Play Service – good job. Everything you put your name against will be hated. Top marketing,” someone else raged.
