Star Wars Day 2017: Last Jedi filming TODAY? Warwick Davis gives big hint

Warwick Davis indicated on Twitter this morning that he is at Pinewood Studios doing some kind of work for the series.

He said: “Happy #StarWarsDay! May the 4th be with you! Today, I have the privilege of actually being in that galaxy far, far away at Pinewood Studios.”

Given that The Last Jedi was thought to be all wrapped-up in terms of its filming, could it be last-minute reshoots or post-production-related work? Or even something related to the marketing campaign? Sadly the 47-year-old remained tight-lipped.

Or is it not related to that movie at all – Episode IX is not thought to be under way until July, but it’s not an impossibility.

He may even be working on the Han Solo spin-off, although his involvement in it has not been announced.

One thing it’s unlikely to be is Star Wars: Rebels, in which he voices Rukh.

Yesterday the popular actor confirmed he was finishing up work on the animation, tweeting: “Recorded my final lines as #Rukh for #StarWarsRebels with the irrepressibly brilliant #StarWars guru @dave_filoni. Cheers sir! #RemoteSelfie.”

Davis also marked May the Fourth by sharing a snap of his younger self on the set of Return of the Jedi way back in 1982.

He captioned it: “A historic #StarWars photo from ’82… me on the set of #ReturnOfTheJedi amongst the Redwoods of Northern California. #MayTheFourthBeWithYou.”

Several Star Wars stars have been celebrating the would-be-holiday: Mark Hamill, famous for portraying Luke Skywalker, was just one of them.

He posted: “FUN FACT-#MayThe4thBeWithYouDay is also the day: MAGGIE THATCHER became 1st female UK/PM- AL CAPONE went to jail & WILL ARNETT was born!”

Woody Harrelson, who has a key role in the young Han Solo film, was on Good Morning Britain today to talk about another project – and was of course probed on his work in a galaxy far, far away.

He teased that his character, Beckett, is a “mentor to Han and a criminal in my own right”, but said when pushed further: “I can’t say a word.”
