Star Wars 8: 'Manipulative' Luke LIED to Rey in this huge DELETED scene: Watch it soon

Many fans are already pretty unhappy with the way Luke’s storylne went (and ended) in The Last Jedi.

Now the full details of a major deleted scene could anger them even more.

Director Rian Johnson has already teased that there will be some complete deleted scenes on the home enertainment release but a new official companion book has revealed exactly what happens in one scene between Rey and Luke.

It casts the Jedi master in a very dark light…

WARNING: CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS

Johnson told Collider about teh dramatc Ahch-To scene: “On the island there’s a massive sequence that we shot with Daisy and Mark, which is kind of an additional sort of trial/test that she goes through, that involves her and Mark, and then a big emotional scene between the two of them.

“I mean, it’s big stuff, it’s like actual real scenes.”

This will please fans who had expected to see alot more of Luke training Rey, however, his methods are dubious, to say the least.

New book The Art of Star Wars The Last Jedi has sketches and describes the entire sequence.

Rey spots fires coming from a lower point on the island and Luke tells he it is raiders attacking the Caretakers’ village again.

When Luke reveals that the peaceful locals are often brutally killed, Rey wants to rush to help. Luke says it will only make the raiders return in greater force and the damage and deathtoll will be even worse because she probably won’t be there to save anyone.

Luke says it is the Jedi way to allow death to prevent greater suffering and promote new life.

Rey is furious and disobeys his instructions. The sequence shoudl be thrilling since the apprentice uses the Force to speed her way and help her leap great distances before she bursts dramatically into the village square.

She finds Chewbacca and R2-D2 having a party with the Caretakers around huge roaring fires and they all look shocked to see her burst in with her lightsaber ignited.

Luke deceived her. It was a test. Their subsequent showdown will be one of the reasons Rey jumps into the Dark Side pool before she storms off the island and leaves Luke.

After all the previous examples of it backfiring when the Jedi tried to manipulate and control apprentices like Anakin and Luke, it will not please fans that Luke has become the same.

He wanted her to disobey him because he want someone who is willing to cast aside rules and logic and act from the heart.

However, his methods are just as dubious as the other masters before him.

The Art of Star Wars The Last Jedi (Abrams, £30) is out now.
