Star Wars 8 Last Jedi news: TRUTH behind Kylo Ren’s ‘new’ scar in teaser trailer REVEALED

Although the character, played by Adam Driver, was seen looking wounded near the end of The Force Awakens, the injury on his face in the teaser for the new movie prompted intense speculation.

Was it part of a flashback, or a new mark altogether?

Johnson has spoken out on Twitter, saying it’s just a cosmetic alteration of the same scar from The Force Awakens.

One follower suggested: “You seen the scar for three seconds in [episode] 7, you’ll see it for the whole movie in 8.

“I’m betting they just liked it farther right. Close enough.”

Johnson confirmed: “It was my decision to slightly adjust it, and that was my justification.

“It honestly looked goofy running straight up the bridge of his nose.”

The teaser, which was debuted late last week, focussed overwhelmingly on Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), with Hamill admitting since that he “fundamentally disagreed” with the direction his character takes in the new film.

Meanwhile, after an Ewan McGregor-fronted Obi-Wan Kenobi spin-off was long speculated but never announced at last week’s Star Wars Celebration, the man himself has denied he’s involved.

“There’s no official offer, and I haven’t met them about it or anything,” he told Entertainment Weekly.

“I think they’ve got films to make until the 2020s, so I don’t think it’s going to happen soon if it happens at all.”

Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi is out on December 15.
