He has been a shadowy figure for so long.
After appearing only as a hazy hologram in The Force Awakens and then numerous descriptions in recent leaaks and sketches, the First Order leader has finally been unveiled in all his decrepit glory.
As expected, he is wearing luxurious robes woven from gold, his face is hideously scarred and his ancient skin is sunken.
The biggest shock, however, is how brightly coloured his eyes are.
WARNING – SPOILERS
The new images seem to have been from an official set of images showing Snoke, Rey, Luke, Finn and Kylo Ren in their new costumes and weapons. The images have been shared on Twitter by Star Wars Stuff.
After waiting almost two years, Star Wars fans are finally able to gaze into the baby blues of the most terrifying creature in the galaxy.
Despite endless rumours about whether he is an alien from another galaxy, his eyes actually make him look far more human than expected.
One compelling rumour said that Snoke was an ancient being who was able to survive for millennia by jumping from body to body but Leia had discovered the way to destroy him was by finding the tomb containing his original form.
Previous descriptions had suggested that Snoke was a humanoid alien, standing at around seven feet tall, but his eyes are incredibly human, down to the shape of the eyelids, corneas and pupils.
What does it mean?
Snoke has regularly been rumoured to be a well-known existing character who has somehow come back in a hideously disfigured and dessicated state. His causcasian colouring immediately rules out the rumour that he could be Mace Windu, who had somehow survived his fall after being hurled out of a window by Anakin.
