As Force Friday 2 excitement approaches fever pitch, new leaks are springing up about the return of the biggest character in Star Wars history.
There has been constant talk that Anakin, Obi-Wan Kenobi or Yoda could appear in Episode 8 as Force Ghosts. The latter two have already been heard in the teaser trailer.
This week we learned that Darth Vader will be featured in three scenes where characters talk about him but all of these descriptions keep the fallen Jedi and Sith characters off screen.
However, now a new leak from Pinewood is suggesting that Vader’s Jedi alter-ego, Anakin, will actually be seen on the screen.

It’s already been documented in the original concept art for The Force Awakens that Anakin was supposed to return as half-Sith, Half-Jedi, reflecting his dual nature throughout his life. He was originally intended to appear as a Force Ghost but these plans were dropped.
There is increasing evidence that the idea was not binned, simply pushed back for The Last Jedi.
Hayden Christen dropped major hints at Star Wars Celebrations in Anaheim earlier this year when he said: “My relationship with the films is still very much… very present in my life. My life is still very Star Wars-centric.”
A new description of the star at Pinewood studios only fans the flames.
Star Wars theory is quoting a source who reports that Anakin will play a significant role in Episode 8, saying: “His experience will become essential to the story…”
This leak corresponds with other reports that Hayden was seen at Pinewood Studios. It is possible that he was there for voice work, but one report stated: “He was put on a physical regiment to get himself prepared for the role.”
This points convincingly to an actual physical appearance in Episode 8.
Star Wars Theory is also quoting a new source who describes a scene in The Last Jedi with Hayden as Anakin, appearing as a Force Ghost and sharing an important memory.
The leak says: “Anakin closes his eyes, glowing like a soft, flickering candle. He reminisces about the beauty and love he felt for Padme. He conveys a boyish, puppydfog love… This visit to Luke (or will it happen to Ben?) is not a big elaborate revealing of the Force.. more of a glimpse into the euphoria of the Force. Anakin’s apparition will be short and sweet and pack and punch and be like nothing before it.”
Many fans already believe Anakin may appear to Ben Solo (now Kylo Ren) in an attempt to turn him back to the Light by sharing his own experiences of the Dark Side and the Light.
Star Wars Theory points out that that Luke has apparently been communing with the Force Ghosts of Obi-wan and Yoda for many years as he seeks guidance and enlightenment.
Perhaps Anakin will appear to his son to bolster his failing faith and remind him what he is fighting for?
