  • Some Central American migrants stalled at the US-Mexico border Saturday said they were considering job offers in Mexico in anticipation of difficulties with US authorities.
  • The Mexican government has repeatedly offered jobs to the migrants, saying those who obtained legal status could occupy thousands of vacancies, mostly in the country’s “maquiladoras,” doing factory work.

  • Despite the nearly 6,000 troops deployed along the southern US border, some migrants said they preferred to take their chances at rejection when crossing into the US than choosing to stay in Mexico.
