So You Think You Can Dance Season 14 Promo: Mary Murphy, Vanessa Hudgens and a Scorching Ballroom Kiss

The tamale train has pulled back into the station.

The rest of the world won’t get its first glimpse at So You Think You Can Dance‘s upcoming Season 14 until a promo aired during Sunday’s Miss USA pageant, but we’ve got an exclusive sneak peek at the first footage from the show’s back-to-basics (read: no more kids!) cycle.

The video above offers many of the SYTYCD staples: returning judges Nigel Lythgoe and Mary “Tamale Train” Murphy (who was absent from Season 13), earnest young artists hoping for a chance at fame, limber dancers doing moves that make our hamstrings hurt, a sexy ballroom audition (that ends in an actual liplock!) and the obligatory shots of successful hoofers holding their golden tickets to the next round of competition.

What’s new: Vanessa Hudgens (Grease: Live), who seems like an ebullient and enthusiastic temporary addition to the judges’ table.

“You just shine on that stage,” she tells one hopeful entrant.

SYTYCD returns Monday, June 12, at 8/7c on Fox. Press PLAY on the video at the top of the post to get your first look at SYTYCD‘s Season 14, then hit the comments with your thoughts!
