Who is in the cast of Silent Witness 2018?
The BBC drama has been running for over two decades and Emilia Fox has played Dr Nikki Alexander on Silent Witness for the last 13 years.
Speaking about her character, Emilia said: “I feel like Nikki Alexander is very much part of my life.
“I love the luxury as an actor of getting to play a character and getting to know her.”
Emilia is joined by her team of forensic pathologists, led by the logical and shrewd Thomas Chamberlain (Richard Lintern). Richard is also known for starring in TV shows Midsomer Murders and Spies of Warsaw.
Actress, comedian and disability rights activist Liz Carr returns to play the super efficient forensic examiner Clarissa Mullery and Davis Caves is the straight talking and quick witted Jack Hodgson.
David recently starred alongside Natalie Portman in Jackie, the biopic of US First Lady Jackie Kennedy.
Also appearing in this season is Julian Rhind-Tutt from Britannia, who plays pathologist and murder suspect David Cannon. He is joined by Alex Macqueen who plays NCA Investigator Guy Bernhardt.
Emma Fielding plays Dr Nikki’s friend Sally Vaughan who goes missing and Pippa Bennett-Warner plays DC Heidi Bailey.
What will happen in Silent Witness 2018?
The new season will start off with Dr Nikki attempting to cope with the after effects of her traumatic experience in Mexico last year, which saw her nearly buried alive by a Mexican cartel.
While on leave from work she goes to her friend Sally Vaughan (Emma Fielding) for support but ends up back on a case when she goes missing.
The rest of her team at the Lyell share concerns about Dr Nikki’s well-being as she returns to work early and finds herself working on a 16-year-old murder case after a body is found in a reservoir.
Love is in the air too this season, despite the grisly murders, as Nikki falls for handsome American diplomat Matt Garcia (Michael Landes).
When does Silent Witness 2018 start?
Silent Witness season 21 starts tonight (Monday, January 8) at 9pm on BBC One. The second episode airs at the same time tomorrow night (January 9).
The latest instalment of the drama consists of 10 episodes, broken into five two-part films, and will run for the next five weeks.
