The 2018 model year will mark the 65th anniversary of the Chevrolet Corvette. It’s a bit of an arbitrary milestone to celebrate—retirement age!—but nevertheless Chevy has created the Carbon 65 Edition package specifically for 2018 Grand Sport and Z06 models.

Chevrolet is building 650 of these bad boys (exclusively for the GS 3LT and Z06 3LZ trims), although the split between models was not specified. All will be painted the light gray color (here called Ceramic Matrix Gray) that has become increasingly popular in the sports-car world, and they will also receive blue graphics on the doors and front fenders. Convertible versions will have blue tops. The rest of the package centers around, yep, carbon fiber.

The Carbon 65 gear thus includes the following carbon-fiber goodies: a ground-effects package (normally a $ 3995 option), a hood insert ($ 1995), the roof panel on coupes ($ 1995), a spoiler ($ 2520), and side intake ducts. Dark-painted badges and side-mirror caps ($ 100) are present, too, while carbon wheel centers ($ 210) are fitted to black wheels wrapped in summer tires, normally priced at $ 495 on the Grand Sport and $ 3740 on the Z06. Blue-painted brake calipers complete the exterior changes.

The interior gets Carbon 65 door sills, optional Competition Sport bucket seats (usually $ 1995), Jet Black suede upholstery with blue stitching, a carbon-fiber-rimmed steering wheel, and glossy carbon trim. As befitting the pile of woven stuff tossed at the car—and its specialness—the special-edition package will cost $ 15,000. It will be released this summer.
