Princess Eugenie: Royal posts proud photo ahead of Father’s Day from inside palace walls

Princess Eugenie, 28, has the eyes of the world on her, as she is set to be the second royal bride of 2018.

Marrying her partner of eight years Jack Brooksbank at Windsor Castle this October, she’s reportedly been busy preparing.

Taking a day away from wedding planning, Eugenie attended the Trooping the Colour 2018 with other family members.

During the day to celebrate her grandmother, the Queen, she took to her Instagram account to post tribute to her father, Prince Andrew, Duke of York, 58.

The photo showed a rare glimpse of inside Buckingham Palace’s walls, with the Queen’s son wearing his full military regalia.

Eugenie captioned the post: “A wonderful and proud day celebrating Her Majesty’s birthday and @hrhthedukeofyork for his first Trooping the Colour as Colonel in Chief of the Grenadier Guards. #troopingthecolour.”

Eugenie is currently the only royal to have her own personal Instagram account, with the the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the Cambridges all being looked after by the official Kensington Royal account.

The post quickly gained attention, with 40,000 likes and hundreds of comments from followers showing their support for the princess and her father.

One follower of Eugenie’s wrote: “Time to let your grandfather rest and his son to take this up!!! He looks smashing.”

Showing excitement for her upcoming wedding, another wrote: “handsome prince, looking forward to seeing him walk you down the aisle!”

The snap is taken from the famous Principle Corridor in Buckingham Palace, residing in the state apartments.

With its duck-egg blue walls, vast paintings and royal red carpet, it provided the perfect backdrop for the proud Eugenie to show off her father’s achievement, just a week before Father’s Day.

The 28-year-old is reported to be very close with her father, and mother Sarah Ferguson, 58, with Andrew expected to walk her down the aisle this October.

Wearing bright green to contrast her striking red hair, Eugenie wore a vibrant cowl neck dress to the occasion.

Keeping the beaming sun off her fair complexion, she wore a stone-coloured, wide-brimmed hat with matching green leaves on it.

This year’s Trooping the Colour was also a special moment for another royal, Princess Eugenie’s new cousin-in-law, Meghan Markle, 36.

The event marked Meghan’s first appearance on Buckingham Palace balcony, where she joined other high-ranking royals to celebrate the Queen’s birthday.

The revealing dress was off the shoulder, with a similar neckline to that of her wedding dress.

She added a more formal, conservative touch with large matching nude buttons at the side.
