Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s secret trip to this country – with awkward repercussions

Prince Harry, 34, joined his wife Meghan Markle, 37, on a recent trip to Amsterdam.

The pair decided to head to the city to stay at the newly launched Soho House Amsterdam, a favourite of Meghan’s.

They reportedly not just stayed at the hotel but also experienced pampering treatments, as well as a boat ride through the city. The pair opted out of Red Light District tour.

Harry and Meghan also had an awkward situation while staying in Amsterdam.

Along with the royal couple, many other celebrities attended including Lily Cole, Eddie Redmayne and Stanley Tucci.

Megan previously met Eddie Redmayne at Soho House Istanbul in 2015.

However, Harry has previously its to Jenna Coleman, who he was rumoured to date in 2015.

Vanity Fair’s royal correspondent Katie Nicholl said: “It was pretty awkward and some of the other guests were commenting on it.”

However, she also confirmed that Meghan “didn’t seem to notice” and seemed happy throughout breakfast when the rumoured ex’s almost bumped into each other.

Amsterdam has recently come under fire for being taken over by stag does and hen-dos.

The city has cracked down on a number of tourist behaviours in a bid to restore it’s reputation.

Some of the strict measures include closing down streets to clear up tourists vomit.

New laws could also result in large fines for tourists caught drinking in public or being loud in public.

Chief executive of Amsterdam Marketing, Frans van der Avert, told Dutch News: “Everybody is free to choose, but if you choose to be a public nuisance, you have to pay for it.

The royal couple are soon to depart on their trip to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji for a whirlwind 16-day tour.

Harry and Meghan will attend a whopping 76-engagements during the trip.

It will be the first overseas tour they take as a couple since they married earlier this year.

They recently travelled to Dublin, as well as to Sussex.
