Meghan Markle is an American actress best known for her role as Rachel Zane in US TV drama Suits. The 36-year-old met UK royal Prince Harry in Toronto while he was in Canada promoting the Invictus Games.
They’ve now been dating for well over a year – although the pair have yet to make an official public appearance. Could they get married in 2017? Will we see a royal engagement with Harry getting down on one knee before the year is out?

It’s not the first time a royal proposal happened in Africa.
Prince William proposed to his wife the Duchess of Cambridge whilst in Kenya in 2010.
His brother Harry could be following in his footsteps when wanting to pop the question to Meghan on their trip this month.

Africa is a very important place to Prince Harry, where he has done a lot of conservation work over the years and continues his mother’s legacy by working to educate young people on HIV and AIDS.
The country is close to his heart and by taking his beau to the country, could strongly suggest he could propose when out there.
The source stated: “Harry regards Africa as his spiritual home and has often talked of how he can get away from it all there.
“Obviously he wants to show Meghan what an amazing place it is and create new memories together.
“Harry’s done a lot of conservation work in Africa with endangered elephants and black rhinos and he’ll show them to the woman he wants to marry.

Prince Harry was seen whisking Meghan away for her birthday earlier today, sparking rumours of an imminent engagement.
He was seen giving a thumbs up to other passengers as he put his arm around his long-term girlfriend, before boarding the plane for a safari trip to Africa.
The destination is famous for honeymooners and engagements due to it’s romantic nature, with many suggesting it could be where he will pop the question.
A source stated: “He’s made the trip incredibly romantic. They’ll go on boats across the lake, walk in the bush at dawn and camp under the stars.”

It is reported that she flew her mother out to join her.

However, it seems that some may think that Meghan isn’t right for Prince Harry.
A source reported that his stepmother, Camilla Parke Bowles, isn’t a fan of the Suits star.
They stated: “She’s long thought Meghan isn’t good enough for Harry and told her that she’s not welcome in the royal family.”

The Emmy award-winning lighting director apparent for on very well with him, and approved of the relationship.
The source told MailOnline: “He’s pretty happy about Harry and he’s extremely proud of her. They have an amazing relationship, they’re very close and they always have been.”

It was thought that a Royal wedding could have been on the cards for this month.
The month of August was debated to be a prime month for a proposal as it is also the twentieth anniversary of his mothers death.
“He feels getting engaged will lift that gloom forever because he will be able to associate August with something joyful,” the source stated.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle first met last May, when he was in Canada promoting the Invictus Games.
Rumours were fuelled after they appeared to sport matching bracelets, hers being spotted on her Instagram account.
Yet it was in November that the relationship was confirmed after a rare official statement from Kensington Palace.
In it, he requested that the American star was left alone after she had been hounded by paparazzi due to the rumours, addressing her as “his girlfriend, Meghan Markle.”
It is thought that they bonded over their humanitarian work.
Meghan is regularly spending her time between her acting work in Hollywood and her humanitarian work whilst volunteering in refugee camps.
Prince Harry is also known for his humanitarian work.
He featured in a documentary last year, “Harry in Africa” where he worked to end the stigma of HIV and AIDS, as well as his charity work regarding mental health with Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge.
