Pride of Britain 2017: Viewers break down in tears over emotional ceremony ‘Heartbroken'

The Pride of Britain Awards, broadcast on ITV, were designed to recognise and appreciate some of the many brave and impressive people trying to help others across the country.

Moin Younis, a 17-year-old from Birmingham, suffers from one of the rarest skin conditions in the world, and faces unimaginable pain every day.

The awards arranged for the teenager to meet his idol and footballer David Beckham, who informed him of the news that he would be receiving the prestigious accolade for his work in the community helping other 

Witnessing the horrific struggles Moin went through, along with the other winners, viewers instantly broke down in tears during tonight’s ceremony, as they took to Twitter to express their feelings. 

One person wrote: “I’m so heartbroken at the Pride of Britain Awards.”

“Not a dry eye in my living room so inspirational but really emotional all incredible people. Xxx,” another said. 

A third agreed: “God Pride of Britain isn’t for me tonight crying me bl**dy eyes out,” followed by: “And now I’m gone @PrideOfBritain… how inspirational is @mo_villa1. what a great lad love how great #davidbeckham was with him.”

“I will never moan about a cold, cough, flu again after seeing that young boy on #PrideofBritain with no skin and what he goes through,” another praised.

The ceremony also saw Prince William present many emergency service officers with an award for their courageous work during the Grenfell Tower fire earlier this year.

“I couldn’t be prouder of what you’ve all achieved and done together, that is why I’m so pleased that you’ve won this award tonight,” he said.
