Pokemon Go news: Next Niantic event REVEALED, Community Day update, Moltres return

Fans can get ready for a new Pokemon Go event being launched in April, away from the usual Community Day.

Trainers on Android and iOS look set to get reveal later this month, although what it is exactly is hard to say.

A big new update has been provided in the latest issue of the Pokemon newsletter, which teases what sounds like a new event in-game event.

“Trainers, starting April 10, we’ll be hosting a special celebration in honor of the Kanto region in Pokémon GO,” the message from Pokemon Go Live reads.

“Keep your eyes on the official Pokémon Go website and social media channels for more information surrounding this event.”

This would suggest that something special is being cooked for those who love the original batch of Pocket Monsters.

No other information has been provided by Niantic, although if something is arriving on April 10, we might start hearing more about it very soon.

As of the time of writing, no new news has been posted on the official Pokemon Go website, or as part of the events tab.

There’s a bunch of online speculation on what this could mean for the game, with many fans hoping it has something to do with regionals.

Each designated area around the globe has a regional exclusive, which can only be caught when visiting that area.

And Trainers are hoping that perhaps Niantic will be switching these round for a limited amount of time, starting on April 10.

However, while this would be very cool, it looks like fans will have to wait and see what is being cooked up by the development team.

It follows news about another big event which will be going live later this month.

The April Community Day for Pokemon Go is scheduled for next week and will include Mareep as the special Pocket Monster.

This will come with its own exclusive move, as well as the chance of catching a shiny variant.

Trainers will have to catch a Mareep during the three-hour event and evolve it to unlock the special move, which has now been confirmed.

For those who evolve their Mareeps into Ampharos, they will be rewarded with the exclusive move of Dragon Pulse.

Dragon Pulse is a Charge Move with a base power rating of 90 and a Damage per Energy ranking of 1.80.

It should be noted that Fast TMs and Charged TMs will not grant exclusive moves during Community Day.

To learn the exclusive move, you must catch or evolve the featured Pokémon during Community Day hours.

Pokemon Go developer Niantic appear to have solved its Legendary Raid problem.

Legendary Raids are notoriously difficult battles that can only be bested by large groups of players.

Successful players are rewarded with a Legendary Pokemon encounter, although there’s still no guarantee you’ll catch the powerful Pocket Monster.

Beating these Legendary Raids and capturing the Pokemon is particularly problematic for players in rural areas with few PokeStops, or Trainers that typically play Pokemon Go solo.

Fortunately, however, Niantic’s new Research Quests have solved this problem.

Players who collect seven stamps will have the opportunity to encounter Legendary Pokemon Moltres.

The news was revealed by The Silph Road, with one player managing to secure Moltres by throwing a curveball with a Golden Razz Berry and Ultra Ball.
