Pokemon Go Grass Event update: New Niantic event has a MAJOR problem

‘s new Worldwide Bloom Grass Event isn’t going down well with fans.

The Pokemon Go  is supposed to make grass-type Pokemon appear with greater frequency.

Unfortunately, however, this doesn’t appear to be the case for many fans – myself included.

One fan told Twitter followers: “This grass event is pretty bad. 1. Barely no grass types for me. 2. Only lasts for 2 days!!!”

This was echoed by another player, who writes: “On my hour long walk, I saw one solitary grass type: Paras. No thank you.”

And another Twitter user said: “This grass event on #PokemonGo is c**p. There are no grass types about!”

I’m personally yet to encounter a single grass-type Pokemon, despite dropping a six-hour Lure earlier this weekend.

You can see the full list of Gen 1 and Gen 2 grass-type Pokemon below. How many have you encountered during the Pokemon Go Worldwide Bloom Grass Event?

Forbes is also reporting a lack of grass-type Pokemon in built-up city areas.

“Playing in downtown Chicago, Pokemon are never in short supply, but since this grass event started, I have seen no discernible change in spawns or what’s on my nearby tracker,” the post reads.

“I’ve never seen more than one or two grass Pokemon on my nearby at any given time, and many times there will be zero.

“While I know that an event like this doesn’t replace everything with grass spawns, in past events that focused on ghost, starter, water or pink Pokémon that had increased spawns, I feel like I saw a hell of a lot more than impact than this.”

It looks like the Worldwide Bloom event is making a difference in certain areas, but not everywhere.

Fans have also been disappointed by the lack of new Shiny Pokemon. Some speculated that a new Shiny would be introduced, following the release of Shiny Magikarp and Gyarados in the Water Festival.

The Pokemon Go Worldwide Bloom event runs until the evening of May 8. UK fans can expect it to last until around 8pm.

Grass-type Pokemon include Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, and Exeggutor from Gen 1, as well as Chikorita, Bayleef and Bellossom from Gen 2.

Other Grass event bonuses include the extension of Lure modules, although even this .

Niantic told Twitter followers: “To help you catch your favourite Grass-type Pokemon this weekend, Lure Modules will last for six hours for the entire weekend!”

Fans are also being encouraged to document findings using the Pokemon GO AR camera, before sharing findings on social media using the #PokemonGO.
