The infamous talk show star read out the results of a YouGov poll that claimed to collate the most ‘famous’ people in Britain.
Mr Morgan ranked sixth after 98 percent of Britons surveyed had ostensibly heard of him.
The GMB host said: “I’m the sixth most famous person in the country! Prince Harry, languishing down at 97 percent.”
Meanwhile, co-host Susanna Reid scoffed at the news.
She said: “Sorry, sorry – how have more people heard of you than Prince Harry?”
But she was interrupted by her rambling colleague.
Mr Morgan continued: “Daniel Craig, Oprah Winfrey, Boris Johnson and the English football team are all less famous than me.”
Addressing TV host Lorraine, he asked: “How privileged do you feel talking to the sixth most famous person in the country?”
The reaction on Twitter was not as rosy.
One user said: “We’ve had 15 minutes of Piers insulting Sean and Alex then rambling on about himself…..oh and by the way another teenager stabbed last night. Get your priorities right GMB, disgraceful!!!”
Another cried: “So so sick of hearing Piers Morgan rant and hardly ever getting to hear anybody else’s point of view. Will he ever put a cork in it?”
Even more bitingly, one person said: “He is only more famous because people hate him. Surely it is better to be loved. About time he was sacked and then other people could talk.”
The most famous people in Britain, according to the poll, were David Beckham and Theresa May, who were both recognised by 100 percent of those sampled.
