Spring has finally burst into life with beautiful blooms adding a touch of colour to everyday life.
Famed for its beautiful cherry blossom season, the blossom (or sakura) in Japan, is celebrated as a major event.
Tourists flock from all over the world to see the natural wonder with brilliant pink scenes flooding the local parks and lining the rivers.
To celebrate the Spring, Botanica World Discovers have highlighted some of the best destinations around the to watch the season bloom.
From the European shores to the Japanese sakura, now is the time to experience the blooms.
Japan and South Korea
Famed for their vivid cherry blossom display visiting the cherry blossom in Japan has been rewarded its own name, Hanami – meaning cherry blossom viewing.
Springing up around the country, the cherry blossom starting blooming early this year with reports of the flowers beginning back in March.
Alongside the pretty attrition that has lured tourists for years, the Japanese blossom is deeply symbolic according to the Telegraph the flowers are: “The floral embodiment of Japan’s most deep-rooted cultural and philosophical beliefs.”
Holland’s Floralia Flower Show
Without quite such a long plane journey, a tour around the Floralia Flower Show in Holland is bursting with colourful life.
Running from April to May, the show takes place in the grounds of the Chateau de Grand Bigard.
The 14 hectares of park transforms into a sea of colour for visitors to explore.
Flower gardens in Italy and France
One of the world’s oldest academic gardens, the Padua Botanic Garden hosts around 7,000 species of plants and flowers.
According to World Heritage Convention, the garden was the first botanical garden having been created in 1545.
Having preserved its original layout, travellers are treated to a site of historical significance as well as the beautiful blooms.
Loire Valley Châteaux Gardens
Referred to as “the garden of France” it is not hard to see why the Loire Valley made the list.
Covered with beautiful blooming gardens, the flower festival takes place between the end of May and June.
Madeira Island flower gardens
The beautiful Madeira Island is covered by tropical gardens offering visitors the chance to explore a host of exotic flowers from across the globe.
Alongside the beautiful garden displays and historic manor houses, tourists can enjoy the subtropical climate the Island offers.
