PICTURED: Inside the stunning new luxury glass Japanese train Shiki-Shima

The all-new all-glass train suite Shiki-Shima is a new Japanese luxury train and it’s set to send travel lovers wild with its fabulous interior. 

Boasting private suites, observation platforms, bars and gourmet restaurants, it is the height of luxury as far as train travel goes.

This train will consist of 17 suites, including beds, showers and toilets, and the most luxurious will even have bathtubs.

However, a ticket to ride this trains doesn’t come cheap.

Each suite in the train has two floors, with a sitting room area and beds below. 

On the train you will glide through Japan’s scenery.

Trips of up to three days are available, and the train visits Hirosaki, Aomori, Ichinoseki, Naruko-Onsen, Matsushima, Shiroishi and Ueno.

The East Japan Railway Company are obviously expecting the trips to be popular, as you currently have to apply for tickets.

It costs around £2306 (€2700) for a two day trick on the Shiki-Shima.

Travelling by train is the most popular means on transport in Japan.

There are 27,268 km of rail crisscrossing the country. 

Japan pioneered the high-speed shinkansen or “bullet train”, with speeds of up to 200 mph.
