The quizzer is presenting her own show, Britain’s Brightest Family, and opened up about how The Chase host Bradley reacted to her new role.
“What did Bradley say when you said you were going to be a presenter?” Phillip asked.
Anne replied: “He was delighted. I didn’t say anything to him but he came and said to me, ‘I heard about your new gig and congratulations.’
“And I’m sitting there thinking, ‘Honestly Brad, I learnt from the best. I mean I’ve been watching you for years and no one can be better…”
Phillip, 55, shot a stunned look at the camera as Anne trailed off realising what she’d said.
“Apologies,” she quickly stated. “But no one can be as good as Brad.”
Phillip hit back: “Wow that came out of nowhere then. I wasn’t expecting that.”
Jokingly cutting the interview short, he snapped: “Anyway, thanks for coming in.”
Anne later revealed that she has previously kicked The Chase set when she failed to defeat the contestants.
The presenter asked if the chasers ever go soft, to which Bradley had previously replied: “He said, ‘You wouldn’t believe how angry they get when they get something wrong’.”
“He is absolutely right,” Anne confirmed.
“I have been known to come down those stairs and kick the set, I mean I have to kick a bit that won’t collapse.
“Sometimes when things have gone wrong and I just couldn’t get the answers to my brain in time, it is so frustrating, I mean it is our reputation on the line.”
The interview came after Holly chased a two-year-old guest around the studio.
Tamzin decided that she no longer wanted to watch her sister Imogen get her hair cut live on air and ran behind the This Morning sofa.
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10.30am.
