Pedro Sanchez sworn in as new Spanish PM

Socialist leader Pedro Sanchez took the oath of office before Spanish King Felipe VI at the Zarzuela Palace near Madrid on Saturday. The ceremony came one day after Sanchez ousted his predecessor, Mariano Rajoy, in a no-confidence vote in parliament over a corruption scandal. The new PM will fully assume his functions in the coming days as soon as the names of his cabinet picks are published in an official government journal.
