Outlander season 5: Stars tease MASSIVE return in unearthed anniversary pics

Fans are chomping at the bit for Outlander to return so they can find out what’s next for the Fraser family and especially now Brianna Randall Fraser (played by Sophie Skelton) and her husband Roger MacKenzie (Richard Rankin) have been reunited.

But now STARZ executives have revealed season five won’t be launching on the network, and as a result, Amazon Prime in the UK, until early 2020, many are searching out tidbits to keep them going through the rest of “Draughtlander”.

Luckily Jamie Fraser star Sam Heughan and the show’s official Twitter account are on hand to give fans what they’re looking for.

Scottish actor Sam shared the show’s images in honour of the time-travelling hit’s five-year anniversary on his Instagram stories today, and while many of the stills have already been seen, one depicted the Frasers standing happily with Young Ian (John Bell).

Viewers remember the youngster completed his journey in season four by rescuing 20th Century historian Roger from the Mohawk tribe.

After months of gruelling travelling and searching for the character, whom Ian had wrongly sold to the tribe at Jamie’s request to deal with the man he believed to have raped his daughter Brianna, the Frasers were triumphant.

Unfortunately the tribe were unwilling to let Roger go so easily, prompting Young Ian to make a big decision.

Jamie shared an emotional goodbye with his nephew, and many were left wondering if the character would ever return to the series.

Do the images confirm Young Ian’s return in season five, giving the Fraser family a happy reunion?

Unfortunately, it’s not clear if the images are simply throwbacks from the cast posing on set during filming season four, but they still might have slipped in a sneak peak for season five.
