Ordeal By Innocence: Rachel Argyll’s killer REVEALED in shocking and brutal ending twist

Agatha Christie knows best and tonight’s thrilling instalment of the BBC serial proved she really knew how to make a classic murder mystery.

After weeks of trying to figure out who killed Rachel (Anna Chancellor), it seemed it was the one no one had been expecting.

Bill Nighy’s Leo Argyll was revealed to have landed the killer blow.

An Egyptian talisman crashed on Rachel’s head and after a long struggle, she dropped down on the floor and perished.

Viewers were completely horrified by the shocking scene and flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts.

One wrote: “Leo!!!!! I knew it!!!!”

Another added: “It’s Leo, isn’t it? (bites nails to the quick).”

A third was shocked, posting: “You utter b%%$ £!d Leo!”

Meanwhile, it was down to Kirsten to reveal the truth as the maid put two and two together.

Having found the bloodied talisman, she toiled with whether to sell the father of her child out.

Thankfully, Kirsten did the right thing and revealed the truth to Leo and his family.

In the end, she locked him up in a war bunker where she would seemingly leave him to rot for eternity.

There were plenty of other shocking twists and turns in Ordeal By Innocence this evening.

Aside from the killer revelation, it seemed Rachel knew more than she was letting on.

Mickey Argyll seemed to be having a sordid affair with his fellow family member, Tina Argyll (Crystal Clarke).

As all the secrets were exposed, it seemed this one couldn’t stay quiet for very long.

What’s more, Jack Argyll (Anthony Boyle), who was told he was raised as an orphan by Rachel actually found out who his real mother is.

It transpired Morven Christie’s Kirsten Lindstrom was revealed to be a teen mother to the cheeky chappie in the household.

The cook was in dire straits when Rachel helped her out but poor Jack was devastated to learn the truth about his history – which naturally only got worse once he was framed for Rachel’s murder.

But it was evil Leo who actually slept with young Kirsten and impregnated her.
