  • Trump criticized documentarian Michael Moore in a tweet, noting that his statement was “not at all presidential.”
  • Trump also said Moore’s Broadway show was “forced to close,” which was not true.
  • Moore’s show, which had anti-Trump themes, was a 12-week, limited-run production.

President Donald Trump on Saturday slammed a vocal critic of his via Twitter, but admitted that his tweet was “not at all presidential.”

“While not at all presidential I must point out that the Sloppy Michael Moore Show on Broadway was a TOTAL BOMB and was forced to close. Sad!” Trump wrote.

Trump was apparently referring to the documentarian Michael Moore’s Broadway debut, a one-man show titled “The Terms of My Surrender.”

Moore’s show was a limited-run production that ran for 12 weeks as scheduled, and was not “forced to close.” Playbill, which tracks Broadway show ticket sales, said Moore’s show grossed $ 4.2 million.

The show contained a decidedly anti-Trump theme, and had even advertised the production with the question, “Can a Broadway show bring down a sitting president?”

In a statement on the show’s closing night, Moore said the show will go on tour next summer.
