Nicola Sturgeon accused of trying to ’embarrass’ Boris Johnson by setting COVID-19 agenda

Nicola Sturgeon has been accused of deliberately trying to cause the UK Government “maximum embarassment” by setting her own coronavirus agenda. The Scottish First Minister was confronted over her decision to part ways with Boris Johnson‘s plans by ITV host Lorraine. Ms Sturgeon insisted that the only thing driving her plans was keeping people as safe as possible.

The host asked: “It’s really interesting because you seem to be setting the agenda here.

“You were with the UK Government at first, and now not following their lead while they do screeching U-turns on masks, exams, school meals over the summer.

“Is that sort of the plan? To cause maximum embarassment to the UK Government?”

The First Minister denied the accusation and insisted that “nothing could be further from her mind”.
