The Canadian singer took time out to focus on his family and the youngster’s battle with liver cancer, but he has now released a new single after it was revealed he was “progressing well”.
The 41-year-old announced his comeback by sharing his new music video I Believe In You online, which has left fans in tears.
The emotional clip features a small boy, who can be seen running around and climbing trees before handing a young girl a flower from the garden.
Directed by US choreographer Derek Hough, it follows the pair as they grow up, fall in love and marry before raising two children.
The video ends with the couple still very much in love in their old age as the man offers his wife another flower from their garden.
Michael posted the video on his Twitter page, announcing: “New video for ‘I Believe In You’ directed by @derekhough! #IBelieveInYou #DerekHough.”
His fans were quick to comment on the moving song with many revealing they had been reduced to tears and branding the video “beautiful”.

It comes after Michael and his wife Luisana Lopilato confirmed that their son was “progressing well” with his treatment.
A statement released on the father-of-two’s official Facebook page last week read: “We are so grateful to report that our son Noah has been progressing well during his treatment and the doctors are very optimistic about the future for our little boy.
“He has been brave throughout and we continue to be inspired by his courage. We thank God for the strength he has given all of us. Our gratitude to his doctors and caretakers cannot be put into words
“We’d like to thank the thousands of people that have sent their prayers and good wishes to us. As we continue this journey we are greatly comforted by your support and love.”
