Melania Trump – First Lady meets Queen Rania, but who takes the award for best dressed?

Melania Trump opted for green, the colour of money, to greet King Abdullah II of Jordan and his wife Queen Rania at the West Wing of the White House today.

The former-model looked statuesque next to her husband Donald Trump in the emerald skirt suit.

The conservative look definitely suited the Slovenian-born 46-year-old’s tanned complexion.

The elegant suit was nipped in at the waist with a patent black crocodile belt with a gold, square buckle.

Matching black stilettos finished off the First Lady’s look.

However, Melania had some competition in the style stakes.

The stunning Queen Rania wore a monochrome outfit with a black skirt and matching jacket, punctuated with a white scarf and matching white heels.

She held a chic mini bag in her hand as she posed with her husband and the President and First Lady for official photos.

Melania showed a smiling face to the public despite some outrage at her choice of outfit for her official portrait as First Lady.

Melania made a surprising choice of attire for her first official portrait as First Lady, dressing in Dolce & Gabbana – an Italian rather than American designer.

The official portrait has been released this week and is currently being displayed on the White House website.

The 46-year-old wore a black tuxedo jacket with a foulard around her throat.

The White House declined to confirm or name the designer of the jacket to the New York Times, but Stefano Gabbana posted the official portrait on his Instagram feed with #DGwoman, #MelaniaTrump Thank you, and #MadeinItaly.

The First Lady, fast becoming somewhat of a style icon, covered up in a demure white coatdress with a wide lapel from luxurious fashion line The Row.

Coats from the brand’s collection, designed by American child stars Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, 30, can sell for up to £4,800.

First Lady Melania Trump delivered a speech while attending the 2017 Secretary of State’s International Women of Courage Award in the white ensemble.
