Patients at the Children’s National Medical Center now have the opportunity to spend time outside in a healing garden whle admiring views of the National Mall and Washington Monument from the hospital’s new rooftop.
Melania, 47, officially opened the new Bunny Mellon Healing garden yesterday and spent the afternoon working with some of the hospital’s patients, helping them colour in floral pictures.
The First Lady decided to embrace the day’s garden theme by wearing a sleeveless white lace dress with a floral pattern, which she matched with a mint green cardigan and nude stilettos.
She completed the look with a pink lip, dark eyshadow, and her hair worn down in waves.
Among all the patients on the day, Melania made a special bond with a girl who was celebrating her birthday.
CNN reported she told the girl it had been her birthday on Wednesday, and went on to explain it was her husband’s birthday in June, and that he is 70-years-old.
The group chatted about their favourite books and singers, and after several minutes of crafting, Melania thanked the children for spending their afternoon with her.
The children seemed to approve of the First Lady, as they were pictured laughing and giving her hugs.
Melania’s birthday week has been filled with events, as just a day earlier she welcomed Argentina’s president to the White House.

Argentina’s President Mauricio Macri arrived with his wife, Argentine First Lady Juliana Awada, to hold talks with Trump on a range of issues.
Melania wore an army green two piece outfit, which included a military-style jacket and pencil skirt.
The jacket was fitted with imprinted stitching and cinched in at her waist.
Her matching green skirt was decorated witha line of buttons which formed a slight split just above the knee.
She wore her hair down in loose waves and completed the look with a pair of pointed white ad black patterned heels, which eaisly blended into the stylish scene.
