McMafia: TENSE cliffhanger leaves Alex in a sticky situation but which side did he choose?

The crime drama introduced viewers to the Godman family and it seems that the Russian mobsters have got trouble at their doorstep.

Following the brutal murder of Uncle Boris (played by David Dencik), it seems that the there is another mob family rising to the top.

At the end of the violent first episode, Alex (James Norton) was left with the difficult choice of avenging his uncle’s death or learning to work with Vadim Kalyagin (Merab Ninidze) and tear him down from the inside.

The show came to a climax with the hunky lead character trying to decide if he should steer well clear of his family’s criminal past or whether he should get his hands dirty instead.

If the explosive trailer is anything to go by, it won’t take Alex long to rise to the top as a true mobster of his own right.

What’s more, viewers were loving the introduction to the dramatic McMafia world and flocked to Twitter to praise the new series.

One fan gushed: “James Norton being sauve and shady in a suit is the new years gift I needed. Thanks BBC. #McMafia.”(sic)

Another added: “#McMafia Okay! You got me! Hooked and not just because of #James Norton!”

A third posted: “This looks good, class. #McMafia.”

McMafia continues tomorrow night on BBC One at 9pm.
