Matt Tebbutt defies BBC bosses as he refuses to stop Saturday Kitchen demonstration

Therefore, Matt asked the viewers at home to vote on whether he should cook his guest a bean soup with tomato salsa, roasted corn and fried tortilla chips or Lemon sponge cake with confit vanilla lemons.

The host explained the result was very close but 52 percent of voters chose for Sara to enjoy some Mexican food.

Taking to Twitter to comment, one viewer wrote: “I really wanted the lemon cake but because its Sara I’ve gone for Heaven – even though I think it’s disgusting.”

Another added: “I would choose the cake. However, Sara is ace so I’ll be voting food heaven,” whilst a third posted: “As much as I love Sara, have to say I’d be tempted to go for the Lemon cake.”

Saturday Kitchen airs at 10am on BBC One.
