Martin asked his followers: “Today’s Twitter poll: If you HAD to pick, which of the current Conservative big beast MPs do you think would be the best PM?”
Followers were then given the option to choose between Boris Johnson, David Davis, Philip Hammond or current Theresa May.
The results were tight, and Martin revealed 9000 people had voted.
At 9am this morning, the results showed Boris Johnson was the most popular choice, with 28 per cent of the vote.
Theresa May came in very close behind with 27 per cent of the vote.
Philip Hammond managed to get 24 per cent of the vote, and David Davis trailed behind with 21 per cent.
Many felt there were none who they would want to choose, and replied to Martin on Twitter to tell him so.
One wrote: “If I HAD to, if my life depended on it, er…still none of them.”
Another said: “The selection choice is so bad that Theresa May is actually the best choice out of the bunch (saying something).”
Some called for Martin himself to enter politics, and one follower wrote: “You run the country, you’d have it on an even keel in a week with all the savings.”
Quite a few followers also called for Jacob Rees-Mogg to be included in the poll.
Martin did not reveal which of the four candidates he would vote for.
Politics is not usually something Martin gets involved in, and he tends to stick to saving people money.
Recently he revealed whether he thought it was worth getting a joint railcard.
Speaking to Adrian Chiles on BBC Radio 5 Live, Martin said: “I’m a big fan of railcards in general.
“The two that people don’t know about – probably – that are applicable to everybody out there are the Two Together card, which costs around £30, though it can sometimes be discounted, and the Family and Friends railcard.”
