Loose Women viewers in tears as Sara Payne reads heartbreaking letter to murdered daughter

Sara spoke to today’s Loose Women panellists Linda Robson, Gloria Hunniford, Andrea McLean and Kaye Adams about the heartbreaking moment the eight-year-old was abducted on July 1, 2000, with her saying that she “couldn’t breathe, eat, or sleep” throughout the 17 days in which she was missing.

Reading an open letter to her little girl, Sara shared: “We have to remember there is always hope, and you are one of those hopes.”

She added: “She’s changed the world of child protection.

“What she’s done in her death I wish she’d have had the chance to have that in her life.”

Sara also admitted that “she fights every day not to be angry”.

She explained: “I remember saying to my father ‘why me?’ And he said ‘who else? Pick someone’.”
