Location, Location, Location: Kirstie Allsopp asks couple what they do in BED

Hosts Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer took a trip down memory lane with these vintage property searches on the Ch4 show.

The pair checked in with two couples who they helped in 2009 and 2011, to see how the house hunters are handling the post codes they chose now.

Kirstie helped Cat and Ed, a young couple who were renting in Chiswick and were determined to stay in the area.

With a budget of £300,000, Kirstie thought they may have to give up the pricey postcode.

The host showed Cat and Ed a home in Ealing which offered a lot more for their money.

Kirstie knew she would have to sell them on the place, particularly the main bedroom which was a converted attic.

As the walls sloped down at the sides, the head room where the bed sat proved limited.

With Ed being a fairly tall man, Kirstie sensed they would have a problem.

Making a tongue-in-cheek comment, she said to Cat: “I know it’s not something Ed could stand up in, but what do you do when you’re in bed?”

Cat giggled at her innuendo but Kirstie’s powers of persuasion eventually worked.

The couple ended up purchasing the home and when Phil visited them last year to catch up on their progress, he found they still lived in the same spot.

Seven years on, Cat and Ed had worked tirelessly on their Ealing property to give it an impressive makeover.

Cat said: “We still feel like we’ve got plenty of space. We don’t feel like we’ve outgrown it at all.”

They both agreed they loved their home and had no intentions of moving out any time soon, especially now that they’re married and will be starting a family.

They bought the home for £270,000 in 2009 and according to Phil, it was valued at £525,000 just seven years later.

Last week Kirstie asked a house hunting husband if he wanted his wife to be naked, when they were inspecting a potential property.
