So far, viewers have watched the school teacher post details of her sexual assault on social media and have a flashback, which appeared to confirm Andrew (played by Ioan Gruffudd) did rape her.
However, with three episodes left to go, it’s anyone’s guess as to how it will all play out.
But for fans worried that Laura’s ordeal may drag into a second season, Joanne, who plays the blonde beauty has confirmed it will come to an end in the series finale.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the actress explained: “It’s definitely a thriller that you can watch and get to the end and feel like you can pay back for your investment and time and emotion into this story.
“It’s not something that’s too open-ended – it’s a whole story, and a real roller coaster of a story.”
The 37-year-old went on to add that she was drawn to the series because of the shocking twist.
“I had never done a thriller before,” Joanne explained. “It’s very cool, it’s very cinematic.
“It’s very difficult to find something that feels original, whether it’s a story or a production, and I felt this was.”
Tonight’s episode will see Laura meet the mother of Andrew’s late wife as she digs deeper into his past.
In a tense teaser from the fourth instalment, the teacher can be seen admitting to Felicity Cassidy (Clare Higgins) that she was sexually assaulted by her son-in-law.
It’s clear that she isn’t a fan of Andrew as she quickly falls silent and looks away from her guest – will she provide a vital piece of information that could convict Andrew?
